The Boba Fett Collectible Card Series
The Boba Fett Collector Card Series served multiple purposes during my thesis year. First and foremost it kept me working. When I was struggling with larger work I could always take a break and make a new card. Secondly, I wanted to help promote the BFA show at the end of the year, and I thought this would be a fun way to do it. Lastly, this was a way for me to explore the idea of the collectible, both as art and as a product of nostalgia. Boba Fett being an iconic image is easily accessible by a vast majority of people, and thus I was able to speak to, perhaps, a larger demographic. The collection below is the entire project shown in reverse chronological order. I believe that these small works evolved somewhat over time, and I'd like to think that they helped to inform some of my other work.
Other Work
Yupo is a synthetic (plastic) watercolor paper similar to Mylar. It allows for incredible texture and pigment saturation while remaining more forgiving than traditional watercolor papers, resulting in looser handling and more freedom to play with the materials.
